OCW Summer Conference ~ August 2–5, 2010 ~ Canby Grove Conference Center

Journey in the Write Direction

by Patricia H. Rushford, Summer Conference Director

Truly amazing! You are not going to believe the fantastic lineup of agents, editors, and pro writers attending our summer conference. Once again, we’ll be at the beautiful Canby Grove Conference Center in Canby, Oregon. Our popular drawings for bookstore gift certificates and tuition for the 2011 summer conference will also return.

Bill Myers, our award-winning keynoter and coaching instructor, will be joined by an outstanding faculty. Jeff Gerke will give the closing address Thursday morning. For a full list of editors, publishers, agents, and faculty, check the Web site. You will be delighted when you see the variety and quality.

Agents who have already confirmed that they will be with us are Bill Jensen, Chip MacGregor, Sandra Biship, Terry Burns, and Les Stobbe.

Our growing list of editors (and the publishers or publications they represent) include Alice Crider (WaterBrook/Random House), Suzanne Hadley Gosselin (Clubhouse Jr.), Nick Harrison (Harvest House), Bill Jensen (Eagle Rock Christian Publishers), Lin Johnson (Christian Communicator and Advanced Christian Writer), Kathleen Kerr (Zonderkidz), Sherri Langton (Bible Advocate and Now What?),Chad McComas, (The Christian Journal), Kat O’Shea (Leap Books for tweens and teens), Karen Schurrer (Bethany), Paul Smith (LIVE), Trieste Van Wyngarden (DaySpring), Jeff Gerke (Marcher Lord Press), Joshua and Josiah Williams (WinePress Publishing), Andrea Meuser (Borderline Press), Jamie West, (White Rose Publishing), and more.

Faculty features well-known, published professional authors  James Scott Bell, Randy Ingermanson, Colette Tennant, Marion Duckworth, Sally Stuart, Leslie Gould, and many more.

In addition to our exceptional speakers and faculty, we’ll have at least 14 hands-on morning coaching classes and a variety of afternoon workshops to help you achieve your writing goals. The directors and staff are working hard to create the best conference ever. OCW is fast becoming one of the most popular Christian writing conferences in the country. Plan early to attend.

Tuition this year will be $340 for members and $390 for nonmembers. Lodging options and costs will soon be posted on the Web site along with other conference details. You can begin sending money toward your conference fees to the OCW mailing address, 1075 Willow Lake Road N., Keizer, OR 97303, If you have paid at least $100 by April 1, you will be allowed to make your coaching class choice before registration officially opens later in April.

We realize many of you are going through tough financial times, but this conference will be well worth what you spend. Take the “Journey in the Write Direction” into a world full of opportunities.

Blessings from your summer conference director,

Pat Rushford
