Multiplied Blessings for Obedienceby Petey Prater, OCW Prayer Team
For the long haul, I’m claiming Deuteronomy 28:1–14. Faithful Father promises 20 (I counted them!) automatic blessings on every sphere of our lives if we’ll fulfill only three conditions! We must:
… the Lord our God will set us high above all the nations on earth; we’ll be blessed in the city and in the country; the fruit of our womb will be blessed (children and ministry); the crops of our land and our calves and lambs will be blessed (our work environment); our basket and kneading trough (daily efforts) will be blessed; we’ll be blessed when we come in and blessed when we go out; our enemies will be defeated before us; God’s blessing will rest on our barns (storehouses) and everything we put our hand to; God will bless us in the land He is giving us (everywhere OCW puts its foot); He will establish us as His holy people and grant us abundant prosperity; God will open the heavens and send rain on our land (maturing our works in their season) and bless all the works of our hands; we will lend and not need to borrow; God will make us the head, not the tail; we will always be on top, never on the bottom. (See Deuteronomy 28:1–14.) What stunning results obedience brings! “From the fullness of His grace we have all received one blessing after another” (John 1:16 niv). Surely our OCW “cup overflows” as we follow God’s path together (Psalm 23:5). |
