John 10:27 "My sheep recognize my voice."

Have you ever walked into a crowded room when all of a sudden you hear your name called out? Now, you may or may not recognize the voice, but will probably look around to find whoever is calling your name.

If it’s a voice of someone you know, such as a spouse, child or close friend, you’ll search the crowd for that person. Especially, if you have made plans to meet with that person, your attention will be so focused on that person’s face you’ll block out all the others around you in order to find them.

When the Lord calls out to you during the crowded times of your life: work, school, running errands, taking the kids to school or shopping, do you take the time to focus your attention to listen to Him. Finding Him amidst all the commotion? Distractions seem to abound at those times you have made plans to meet with him. The phone rings, kids are hungry, the house needs to be cleaned, your favorite television show is on, or the laundry needs to be washed. Yet, if you make a concerted effort to tune out those distractions and focus your attention on the One who is calling out to you, you will find Him. A word of caution, don’t listen with your physical ears, rather with your heart.ernie150.jpg

So starting today, when He calls out to you, stop, take the time to listen, meditate and then do what He says. You’ll be glad you did.
