Writer's Prayer - September 2010

Holy Father God, we come to You in the name of Jesus, our Shepherd King.

We love to pray, “The Lord is my shepherd …” (Psalm 23:1). Speaking those words fills us with awe and bows us low before Your throne. We are stunned that You, Omnipotent, Omniscient Lord of all Galaxies, would set aside Your glory with Father and step down from Your majesty into the cesspool of our lives. You laid aside Your powerful scepter of authority and chose a shepherd’s rod and servant’s staff to rescue us. You searched until You found us, filthy and broken, then You gathered us into Your arms and hugged us close, whispering endearments, until Your love made us whole. We are ever grateful, Lord. Thank You.

What are some of the benefits of membership?

  • Friendship and encouragement
  • Networking opportunities
  • Access to critique groups
  • "Members Only" fees for conferences and events
  • Thrice-yearly print newsletter
  • Access to "Members Only" section of website

There are many more benefits, but these are just a few.

How do I become a member?

There are several ways to join OCW. You can join online (see below), or you can print out a membership form and mail it with your check for the dues to the address provided. You may also become a member at the time you register for one of our one-day conferences. In addition to your membership dues, you would then pay the member fee of $8 to attend the one-day conference.

Or if you want to see what we’re all about, you can attend one of our one-day conferences as a non-member, paying the non-member fee of $30 to register. If, by the end of the day, you decide to join OCW, the $30 will be applied toward your initial membership dues. You will end up paying the equivalent of your dues and an $8 meeting fee.

Regardless of how—or when—you join, you will be asked to sign our statement of faith, indicating that you agree with it. Members are asked to sign their agreement with the statement of faith each time they renew their membership.

How much does membership cost?

Annual membership costs are as follows:

  • Single membership (under 62): $36
  • Couples membership: $48
  • Full-time student membership: $24
  • Senior membership (62 & over): $24

Ready to join?

To join online, visit our Membership Page, where you can select a membership option that suits your needs.

To join by mail, download and fill out the Registration Form. After reading and agreeing to the OCW Statement of Faith, fill out the form and mail it, along with a check or money order payable to OCW for annual membership dues to:
